The Anti Pyeongchang Olympics Alliance traveled to Japan to hand over the Anti-Olympics Torch to allies in Tokyo. Ahead of the 2010 Games, Vancouver activists made this alternative torch out of — get ready for it — a toilet plunger. Also referred to as the Anti-Poverty Torch and Olympic Poverty Torch, it has since traveled to London, Sochi, Rio de Janeiro, Pyeongchang, and now Tokyo.
This latest handover featured a series of events from November 20 to 23, 2018. See the full itinerary of events on the Anti Pyeongchang Olympics Alliance’s website.
